"My son Ivan had a few lessons over a short period of time with Nava just before his 13+ art scholarship exam, during which time he has managed to complete his first water colour drawing. This was a medium which was missing in his portfolio and it was very important that he could present his work using this form of drawing. Nava was very patient, encouraging, and nurturing, my son absolutely loved her lessons and had asked for more. He was awarded and Art Exhibition at Magdalen College School and his interest really took off this year, as he moved to the new school. “Nava is an inspirational and highly knowledgeable art tutor. She helped my son, with his 13+ Art scholarship preparation to St John’s School in Leatherhead. My son’s drawing and painting skills improved immensely after attending Nava’s classes for just 3 months. She encouraged him to experiment with various mediums from pencil, through to watercolors, pastels and acrylic paints. Nava helped him to develop further his observational drawing skills, thought him how to draw 2-point perspective and supported him through his preparation of a critical study of a work of art by an artist of his choice, Salvador Dali. Nava knows exactly, what are secondary schools’ expectations, when it comes to Art scholarship portfolio and she is willing to go above and beyond for her pupils. My son very much looked forward to his weekly art sessions with Nava, she inspired him to work hard and as a result, he has been awarded the Art Scholarship at St John’s. I thoroughly recommend Nava to any parent, whose child needs support and guidance with an art portfolio preparation. The classes are small, only 3-5 children and all levels are accommodated for, each child works on individual project and Nava is able to give 1 to 1 attention to each of her students. The atmosphere in the classes is relaxed and the children work at their own peace. My son decided to continue attending the classes after his scholarship exam, as he enjoys them very much.”

“My daughter, now in year 9, has been attending a weekly art lesson for 2 1/2 years with Nava Ahmed. I can honestly say that it is the highlight of her week. My daughter has always loved drawing and has enjoyed art at school. However, she wanted to spend more time with art than was possible at school and she wanted to have the chance to learn new techniques. When I look at what my daughter has accomplished under Nava’s instruction and guidance, I am thoroughly amazed. The progress has been absolutely tremendous in terms of her using color, composition and the overall technique. She has learned about colour theory, perspective, drawing and has become extremely proficient in the very difficult and unforgiving medium of watercolour. She has produced work of which she is extremely proud, and when she showed her school art teacher what she had been doing outside of school, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive and resulted in her getting a higher grade for the subject. She will definitely continue with the lessons and will enjoy continuing to stretch her talent. “

Nava's online 'How to Draw' series in the summer really inspired my daughter. In the space of a few lessons her drawing technique improved considerably, due to Nava's expert tuition. My daughter gained much more of an understanding of techniques than she had in school art lessons, and the fact that Nava managed to convey this, despite not holding in person classes, is testament to her teaching ability. Most importantly my daughter has not only gained a better understanding of technique, she gained confidence as a result. Similarly, in just two in person watercolour techniques lessons, her painting skills improved dramatically. She has since produced some excellent pieces which I can confidently say she would not have been able to do without the wonderful tuition from Nava.
